We are always looking to recruit new members.
We need both Responders and support members to help the group. We hold meetings throughout the year, as well as training exercises, and an annual weekend away. It’s not just for the members either, the family is more than welcome to come along to a lot of the events. We are made up entirely of volunteers, as such we don’t expect you to always be available for call outs. However, we do ask that you attend at least 1 training session throughout the year and at least 3 meetings, so we are able to keep you up to date on procedures and policies.
To be a Responder you will need a suitable 4×4 vehicle, lots of enthusiasm, experience or willingness to learn.
You will need to check with your insurance company that you are covered for voluntary work, this isn’t normally a problem. We pay up to 45p per mile expenses when called out to cover your costs, this is within current HMRC guide lines and does not count as “For hire or reward”.
We also need support for control, assisting Responders on call outs, shows, events and fund raising.
We charge £20 per year for membership, this covers the cost of the public liability insurance and provision of an ID card. If you would like to join, please click on the appropriate button below.
